Here’s some good news for all you Blackhawks fans out there.
Hockey Badass Marian Hossa is back on the ice following his nasty concussion.
I’m sure you all remember how Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres crushed an unsuspecting Hossa in game 3 of last years playoffs.
Torres was initially given a 25 game suspension which was later reduced to 21 games. Not sure why the hell they decided to reduce it, watching the video of the hit makes you cringe every time.
But that’s another story altogether.
Marian Hossa was badass last year with the Blackhawks as he racked up an impressive 77 points in 81 appearances.
Everything could be different when I’m on the ice, if I get hit or if someone pushes me, Hossa said at the Blackhawks convention in July. But without contact, I’m doing everything on a high level. [Source]
Having a lockout sucks monkey butt, we can all agree on that.
For Hossa it’s a little different though. After all, it will give him valuable time to get back in shape after such a long time away from the game.
Hockey Badasses hope to see him back soon. He’s a great player and that’s all we really care about.
And, the Blackhawks will no doubt 100% need him if they’re gonna be able to make a serious run at the Stanley Cup again.
Here’s the nasty hit by Torres on Hossa, in case you forgot how bad it was.
With the NHL, there is a certain vagueness to head injuries. When a player gets hit in the head and drops to the ice, the coach sometimes calls it an “upper body” injury. Because the NHL has no official injury report, there have been times when head injuries have been confused with illness. [Source]
